Summer Intentions: Setting Intentions with the Seasonal Energy of Summer

Summer is like this big, bright party hosted by Mother Nature, and guess what? We’re all invited.

This season is all about soaking up the sunshine, feeling alive, and embracing the fullness of life. It’s like the world’s way of saying, 'Hey, it's time to shine!'

Summer is like a constant reminder of how much beauty there is in the world. It's the perfect time to bask in gratitude for all the blessings in your life, both big and small.

During these warmer months, the universe is nudging us to get moving, get outside, and just feel that energy flowing through us. Whether it's yoga in the park, dancing like nobody's watching, or just taking a long walk, we can use this season to recharge our batteries.

Our intention could be: “I am the vibrant energy of summer, feeling stronger and more alive each day.”

Summer has this special way of bringing people together. It's about those heartwarming BBQs, beach days with friends, or even those deep late-night talks under the stars.

And let's not forget about personal growth and exploration. Summer is your invitation to try new things, explore new places, or dive into personal projects. It’s a season that whispers, 'Go for it, you've got this!'

The Power of Intention Setting

Setting intentions with the changing of the seasons is a profound way to ensure we’re evolving, adapting, and growing – just as nature does.

I like to think of setting intentions as planting seeds in a garden. These seeds of intention, when nurtured with care, thought, and consistent action, can sprout into realities in our lives. Unlike fleeting resolutions or rigid goals, intentions come from a place of authenticity, resonating with our truest desires and aspirations. And since they really matter to you and your unique journey, you are more likely to prioritize them.

Aligning with Seasonal Energies

Each season brings with it a natural energy and set of lessons. By recognizing these seasonal shifts, we can align our intentions more effectively.

  1. Spring: The season of rebirth and new beginnings. As flowers bloom and animals awaken from their winter slumber, it’s an opportune time to focus on growth, new projects, and fresh starts. Daylight gradually increases, allowing us to shine more.

  2. Summer: A period of light, warmth, and activity. The longer days beckon us outside and encourage us to soak up every moment. It’s a season of joy, abundance, and celebration. We welcome the intense, vibrant energies of the Sun.

  3. Autumn: As leaves fall and the air becomes crisp, autumn is a time of reflection, acknowledgment and giving thanks. It’s about recognizing what no longer serves us and letting go, releasing old habits, and embracing change gracefully.

  4. Winter: The world grows silent and still in winter, urging us to turn inwards. It’s a season of rest, rejuvenation, and introspection. It is a powerful time to set Intentions and plant the seeds that will be nurtured underground in the winter.

Creating a Ritual

Preparing your space is not necessary, but can help direct and amplify the power of our intentions. Here’s a simple ritual for seasonal transitions:

  • Find a Quiet Space: Any serene space will do – nature, your favorite spot at home, a bath etc.

  • Light a Candle: Representing the light within and the light of the new season.

  • Write Down Your Intentions: Use a journal, piece of paper or the sheet provided in this guide.

  • Speak Your Intentions Aloud: After writing, infuse them with your energy, voice and breath.

  • Close the Ritual: Thank the energies of the season and envision your intentions taking root.
