Half Moon Bay: Print
About the Artwork:
Half Moon Bay boasts one of the most breathtaking white sand crescent beaches in the world. It’s “U” shaped structure creates a spectacular vision. From a bird’s eye view, it looks like a container of sorts, with water entering through the top inlet, and filling up the crescent bay. The gentle bay waves cascade over the sand on the bottom and sides, in a meditative, rhythmic pattern.
I wanted to dramatize this feeling of being “held” in the container, as well as being “filled up” from a well of abundance from the inlet. Simultaneously, I wanted to capture the essence of expansiveness and freedom, as excess pours out through the waves on the shore, because there is simply enough to go around.
The original painting is available here.
